THE OPPORTUNITY:

A well-established, busy clinic located in the Niagara region is looking for a Medical Administrator/Medical Receptionist (full-time) to join their team due to the busy nature of the clinic.
Working alongside a team of administrative staff and healthcare professionals you will engage with a large portfolio of patients. This role will work very closely with the doctor to provide the best possible care to the patients through coordination and communication. POSITION DESCRIPTION:

As the Medical Administrator, you will be responsible for ensuring the clinic is continuously running smoothly. Your duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Answering patient calls and scheduling or rescheduling appointments
  • Greeting patients upon arrival and administering any necessary paperwork
  • Updating patient files with medical history, insurance information, etc.
  • Process payments when required
  • Ensure office supplies are tracked, ordered and stored appropriately
  • Receive shipments of medication and office supplies
  • Answer patient inquiries, concerns, etc.
  • Call patients to remind them of upcoming appointments and schedule off-site services
  • Work with referring doctors’ offices to obtain patient charts and history

EXPERIENCE:

  • 3 + years of experience working in a busy medical office
  • 3+ years working in the role of medical administrator, medical receptionist, office manager within a busy clinic setting

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Post-secondary education required
  • Advanced diploma in Medical Administration/Medical Secretary a strong asset
  • 3+ years’ experience in a similar role

EDUCATION:

  • Minimum completion of high school diploma
  • Advanced diploma in Medical Administration/Medical Secretary a strong asset
