Description
We are seeking a qualified Medical Assistant to directly support our Spine Surgeon. The Medical Assistant will provide support by performing various clinical and administrative tasks. This role involves direct patient care and requires the ability to perform physical tasks, including bending, squatting, lifting, and carrying. Core responsibilities include: ●    Room patients by greeting them professionally and ensuring they feel comfortable ●    Assist healthcare providers during patient examinations and procedures ●    Prepare and maintain examination rooms, ensuring they are clean and stocked with necessary supplies ●    Obtain patient histories and vital signs, documenting them accurately in EMR ●    Assist patients with mobility and provide support as needed during examinations ●    Handle and transport medical equipment and supplies, requiring lifting and carrying of items up to 50 lbs. ●    Must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 lbs. ●    Ability to bend and squat to assist patients and access supplies ●    Physical stamina to stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks ●    Assist healthcare providers with facilitating all orders including physical therapy scripts/labs/drug testing protocols ●    Suture/staple removal ●    Casting assistance (training provided) ●    Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations ●    Provide excellent patient care and ensure a positive experience for all patients ●    Other duties as assigned by management Required Skills & Experience ●    High school diploma or equivalent  ●    Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or similar)  ●    Medical Assistant experience required (1 year preferred) ●    Candidate should be familiar with working with an EMR (Opening up patient charts, scanning and uploading documents, etc.) ●    Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions ●    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills ●    Proficient in using electronic health records and basic Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) ●    Candidate must be able to travel to all locations that the Surgeon attends.  This include Tribeca (Manhattan), Kew Gardens (Queens), Bayonne (NJ), Bronx, and New Hyde Park (Long Island)   Compensation for the role will depend on several factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience.
