Job Details Job Location: Family Medical Center RHC - Madison, WV 25130 Position Type: Full Time Boone Memorial Health is seeking a qualified Medical Assistant (MA) to support daily operations in an outpatient clinical setting. Under the direction of a licensed medical provider, the Medical Assistant assists with patient examinations, treatments, and medical emergencies while performing routine clinical and administrative duties in compliance with Boone Memorial Health standards and all applicable federal, state, and local regulations. Clinical Responsibilities Professionally assist providers, staff, visitors, and patients Register patients according to established protocols Obtain and document vital signs Collect and document patient medical history Prepare patients for examinations, procedures, and diagnostic testing Assist providers with examinations and treatments Recognize and respond to medical emergencies, including performing First Aid Collect, process, and prepare specimens, including blood collection Perform waived laboratory testing Perform EKGs Assist with minor office procedures Administer medications and injections (IM, ID, SubQ), including vaccinations and immunizations, as directed Screen, track, and follow up on patient test results Transmit prescription refills as directed Maintain accurate and confidential medical records Administrative and Clerical Responsibilities Schedule patient appointments and procedures Update and maintain patient charts Order laboratory tests Manage inventory and order supplies Complete insurance and billing documentation Work with insurance companies as needed Follow up on patient visits Manage petty cash when applicable Maintain confidentiality of patient information Skills, Qualifications, and Competencies Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong interpersonal and customer service skills Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Effective time management and multitasking abilities Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced clinical environment Education and Experience High School Diploma required Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program required Medical Assistant certification required BLS Certification preferred (must obtain within 90 days if not current) One year of EMR experience preferred Physical Requirements Ability to stand or sit for extended periods Ability to walk, bend, squat, reach, twist, push, pull, and grasp frequently Ability to lift up to 50 pounds using proper lifting techniques Supervisory Responsibilities None Travel None expected Other Duties This job description is not intended to be a comprehensive list of duties.
