This is a full-time, benefited position that generally works Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. It is located in La Jolla at Scripps Clinic Torrey Pines, and no evenings or weekends are required. Collaborative team environment with a large cross-covering group in Nephrology, Cardiology, and Rheumatology, providing strong support and shared expertise Diverse learning opportunities through exposure to multiple specialties and complex patient care Conveniently located right off the 5 freeway, approximately 13 miles from downtown San Diego From our vantage point, we overlook the beautiful Torrey Pines golf course, with stunning views of the ocean Your job duties: Both front office and back office MA job duties Rooming patients, checking vitals, assisting with procedures Clinic prep assisting with Provider specific protocols Maintains a clean, organized, and safe environment Organizes and performs patient care services that support the physician’s practice Relaying instructions from the physician to the patient or authorized person Collecting patient data in person and by phone Documenting patient concerns, messages and care provided in the electronic medical record for the physician's review Administering medications specifically directed by the physician Scheduling of appointments and procedures Complete and accurate message taking Routing messages to the appropriate area for direction Order and referral entry, acquisition of pre-certifications Setting up of cases in EPIC plus basic registration and updating of demographics Requirements: Completion of a formal Medical Assistant Program, or Medical Assistance Certification, or a minimum of two years of experience as a military corpsman BLS required in clinical setting for the Healthcare Provider by the American Heart Association (AHA) Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification: One year of experience as a MA in an outpatient setting Cardiology experience Experience with injections, EKGs, UAs

Responsibilities

Perform both front and back office medical assistant duties, including rooming patients, taking vitals, and assisting with clinical procedures. Manage administrative tasks such as scheduling, documenting patient care in EPIC, and coordinating referrals.
