The role of a Medical Assistant in Allergy and Asthma provides assistance to the Allergists in the diagnosis and treatment in a wide variety of lifelong allergy and asthma concerns, such as seasonal/environmental allergies, chronic sinusitis, and food and venom allergies. Your role as a Medical Assistant will allow you to serve the community, simplify healthcare, and help to provide creative solutions to ensure a world class experience. You'll join a creative and passionate team of physicians and clinical staff. This role offers plenty of opportunity to grow your skills as a Medical Assistant and expand your knowledge in healthcare! RESPONSIBILITIES Complete patient intake by taking vitals, updating health histories, and documenting chief complaints. Document clinician exam and assist in diagnostic procedures and minor medical procedures, including breathing tests, allergy skin testing, and oral challenges. Performs routine office procedures in a safe and effective manner. Responsible for the daily maintenance of the laboratory area and equipment logs. Collects updated patient information and charts patient exam in the EMR within the time parameters of the patient appointment. Handles patient private health information within the guidelines of HIPAA and company privacy practices. Administer medications and treatments as directed. Provide patient education materials and communicate physician advice/instructions. Other duties as assigned. Requirements BASIC QUALIFICATIONS Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the state of Minnesota. Willingness and ability to work and travel between all five clinic locations. Valid Driver’s License PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS 1+ year of experience as an LPN or CMA. 1+ year of experience managing patient health information within an EMR. 1+ year of experience working within specialty care.
