The medical assistant will work in our Essex, Madison and Branford offices. The hours vary between 8:00am and 5:00pm. What a medical assistant will have the ability to do… * Play a lead role in the administrative responsibilities of a physician team * Connect with the patient. From scheduling to insurance coordination and more, this position plays a key role in the care process and patient experience * Practice communication and planning skills by coordinating with physicians, clinical MAs, surgical centers, X-ray staff, etc. * Utilize and grow EMR skills by documenting patient information, reviewing and distributing test results and executing necessary pre-op documentation Skills and abilities that a medical assistant should possess… * Surgical scheduling preferred * A knowledge of EMR systems * A positive attitude and friendly, courteous demeanor * Strong written and verbal communication * Ability to comply with all HIPAA requirements Education and experience needed… * A high school diploma * Experience working with an EMR (EPIC Preferred) * Two (2) or more years of medical administrative experience
