Overview North Atlanta Dermatology is hiring a Medical Assistant to join our outpatient dermatology clinic in Cumming, GA. Responsibilities Escort patients to exam rooms and verify full name and date of birth Obtain and accurately record vital signs Support efficient patient flow throughout clinic sessions Prepare procedure trays, instruments, and equipment per provider direction Assist with in-office procedures, including anesthesia/injections as appropriate Prepare, label, and route pathology and lab specimens according to insurance requirements Respond to patient questions in person and by phone as directed Monitor and address nurse line messages, phone messages, faxes, and task queues Document all medical instructions provided to patients, including detailed wound care education Clean, calibrate, sterilize, and inventory medical equipment and instruments per schedule, maintaining proper records Maintain medication and supply inventory, including removal of expired items and accurate documentation Order, sort, restock, and organize clinic supplies Ensure infection control standards are followed and clinical areas remain stocked and compliant Maintain HIPAA compliance at all times Perform additional duties as assigned by management Qualifications Medical Assistant experience with the ability to triage patient concerns appropriately Strong working knowledge of OSHA, HIPAA, infection control, and bloodborne pathogen standards Experience obtaining vital signs and preparing patients for clinical visits Experience administering injections Working knowledge of medical terminology, CPT, and ICD-10 coding Familiarity with office financial policies and basic front-office workflows Proficient in EMR systems and basic computer skills Ability to operate standard office equipment (computer, fax, copier, scanner) Fluent in English (bilingual preferred, if you want to reference it again) Strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment Professional, cooperative, and patient-focused demeanor Ability to travel to satellite offices as needed Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask, prioritize, and adapt Ability to follow oral and written instructions accurately Attention to detail, including accurate spelling, sorting, and filing Licensure/Certifications/Education Education & Experience High school diploma or GED required Completion of a Medical Assistant (CMA) program, Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program, or a bachelor’s degree in a pre-med or pre-physician assistant track preferred CPR certification preferred 1–2 years of recent experience as a Medical Assistant, Certified Nursing Assistant, or in a clinical patient care role preferred Dermatology experience preferred but not required Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during clinic hours Frequent bending, twisting, reaching, balancing, and use of hands and fingers Regular talking and listening in person and by telephone Ability to handle clinical and office materials (supplies, paperwork, instruments) Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds Exposure to infectious organisms, chemicals, and sharp instruments in a clinical environment Benefits (Full-Time Employees working 30+ Hours/Week) Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance effective the 1st of the month following start date Short-term and long-term disability, voluntary life insurance (employee, spouse, child), critical illness, and hospital indemnity coverage Company-paid Basic Life and AD&D insurance Paid time off (PTO) Paid holidays Retirement savings plan Employee discounts on cosmetic services and skincare products
