OVERVIEW

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in patient care and administrative support, with experience in various medical settings including dermatology, urgent care, and hospital medicine. This role is crucial in ensuring that our patients receive the highest level of care and support throughout their treatment journey.

EXPERIENCE

Candidates should possess the following qualifications:

  • Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical-surgical practices
  • Familiarity with ICD coding for accurate billing and documentation purposes
  • Previous experience in a Level I or Level II trauma center is advantageous
  • Background in pediatrics (PICU) or operating room (OR) settings is a plus
  • Strong patient service skills with a focus on compassionate care for geriatric patients
  • Proficiency in using EHR systems for efficient patient management

Responsibilities

The Medical Assistant will be responsible for a variety of tasks that include but are not limited to:

  • Assisting healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures
  • Performing intake assessments, including taking vital signs and documenting medical histories
  • Administering medications as directed by physicians
  • Managing electronic health records (EHR) systems to ensure accurate patient information is maintained
  • Utilizing medical terminology effectively in communication with both patients and staff
  • Supporting various departments such as outpatient services, emergency medicine, and internal medicine
  • Conducting basic life support when necessary and responding to emergencies within the clinic or hospital setting
  • Assisting with X-ray procedures and other diagnostic tests as required
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive patient care
