Description Job Title: Medical Assistant (Front + Back Office) Salary: $23- $27 Hourly Location: Garden Grove, CA Openings: 1 Position Purpose: The Medical Assistant is responsible for assisting the physician with patients by providing patient care according to established standards and practices. Deliver medical care services to patients in an efficient and professional manner. MA’s must have the capabilities to perform all aspects of typical MA duties, including front desk. MA’s are expected to proactively take initiative and serve as an informal leader with the responsibilities related to clinic functions. All Medical Assistants must display outstanding customer service skills and be able to adapt to working with a variety of individuals from the surrounding community. The primary job function is to provide high-quality care to our members while demonstrating the organization's core values. Core Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Verifies patient information by interviewing the patient, recording medical history, and confirming the reason for the visit. Prepares patients for examination by taking blood pressure, weight, and temperature, and reporting patient history summary. Performs on-site testing and procedures, per the physician’s order. Secures patient information and maintains patient confidentiality by completing and safeguarding medical records and other patient information. Accurately records patient information, measurement data, procedure documentation, and test results in the electronic medical record, securing the workstation when finished. Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations. Keeps supplies ready by inventorying stock, placing orders, and verifying receipt. Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, performing preventive maintenance, and calling for repairs. Participates in quality management program. Performs Front Office procedures to schedule, check in, and process patients. Performs Start of Day and End of Day procedures, as assigned. Performs other tasks for which training has been provided, as assigned. All other duties as assigned within scope. Working every other Saturday 1-2 times a month ( Required ) This job description in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by the employee. Education, Qualifications, and Experience: Supply management Verbal communication Infection Control Creating a safe, effective environment Organization Scheduling Professionalism Customer focus Confidentiality Bedside manner Medical Teamwork Must excel in multitasking within a high-paced environment. Strong computer skills, acute attention to detail, confident and professional communication. Responsiveness to the needs of both internal/external stakeholders in a professional and personable manner is expected. Knowledge of general EMR/EHR systems is preferred. Phlebotomy skills is preferred, Phlebotomy license is a plus. Medical Assistant Certificate or Diploma (Required) Bilingual in Spanish (Required) Must have at least 2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant front and back office in a clinic setting. Work Schedule: General work hours are Monday to Friday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., however, start times will vary, depending on organizational, staffing, community, and patient needs. Saturday and Sunday availability is a requirement for this position, which includes a rotating Saturday schedule. The selected candidate will be expected to work one to two Saturdays/Sundays per month, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., at our Tustin clinic. Work schedules are subject to change based on organizational, staffing, community, and patient needs. As such, FTOC may need to modify work schedules to meet such needs. Saturday work schedules will also be affected or implemented due to organizational, staffing, community, and patient needs as FTOC continues to grow and expand work days and hours.
