Description Medical Assistants play a vital role assisting physicians and other healthcare professionals by performing both administrative and clinical tasks. We provide excellent patient care while engaging in a fast paced clinical environment. Clinical Duties and Responsibilities: Teamwork: Able to communicate effectively with peers, providers, and manager to keep the clinics moving effieintly. Taking history information, vital signs, and proper documentation: Escort patients to exam rooms and obtain and record vitals as well as gather patient history information. Assist in writing prescriptions and clinical orders (i.e. medications, physical therapy, MRI, and CT), in addition to providing great customer service. Assisting with patient examinations: Preparing patients for exams, assisting with procedures, and collecting specimen samples. Assist providers with sterile procedures (i.e. injections, radiofrequency ablation, and spinal cord stimulator trials) Preparing examination rooms: Ensuring rooms are clean, stocked, and ready for patient use. Explaining procedures to patients: Providing clear and concise information about medical procedures. Providing basic wound care: Assisting with minor injuries and wound care Providing basic assistance for patients: Application of splinting/casting, cast removal, suture and staple removal, fitting and dispensing durable medical equipment Maintaining inventory of supplies: Ensuring adequate supplies are available for patient care Administrative Duties: Scheduling appointments: Managing patient schedules and coordinating appointments. Basic billing and coding: Processing internal communication regarding in office medical procedures. Maintaining patient information: Perform work related duties such as scanning documents into the EMR, exam room stocking, and other items as required and other tasks as assigned Requirements Requirements Education: High School diploma or equivalent Certificate/Licensure: Active Medical Assistant Certification (preferred) Skills: Understanding of medical terminology Understanding of anatomy and physiology Knowledge of medical diagnosis preferred Ability to prioritize and multitask Must be a team player Ability to remain calm and effective in busy and/or stressful situations Maintain strictest confidentially in accordance with HIPPA compliance Maintain knowledge of ICD-10 diagnostic coding and CPT procedure codes Maintain knowledge of operation and maintenance of clinical equipment, medications, and supplies Physical requirements: Requires frequent and often repetitive bending, reaching, lifting, walking, squatting, pushing and sitting May require prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds without assistance ****Will need to float between office locations****
