Escorts patients to exam room and prepared for MD or APRN Verifies patient information by interviewing the patient, recording medical history, review of medications, screening tools; confirming purpose of the visit and enters into medical record. Accurately obtains and records vital signs Performs office procedures including but not limited to CLIA waived point of care testing, EKG, phlebotomy, and spirometry as ordered by a medical provider. Maintains effective and organized systems to ensure timely patient flow in accordance with agency standards Ensures lab results are reviewed and signed by provider and disseminated as needed. May conduct client education groups and training as directed by provider and/or supervisor. Will participate as a member of an interdisciplinary treatment team in the assessment, development, implementation and evaluation of client’s treatment or health/mental health care plans. Maintains medical office instruments, equipment, and supplies and ensures cleanliness of equipment and environment in compliance with regulatory and agency standards. Maintains all logs and required checks (e.g., refrigerator temperatures, emergency medications, expired medications, oxygen, eye wash station) Conducts pre-visit planning by reviewing and updating patient charts prior to appointment and determines needed services per practice protocol. Performs outreach to engage patients in preventative care services. Assists with administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, processing prior authorizations, messages, telephone calls, etc. Gives instructions to patients as instructed by Performs all other duties as required. *All agency staff are required to attend all mandatory department/agency meetings and trainings* Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM Requirements High school graduate with a minimum of 5 year’s experience in a public health care setting or Medical Assistant training with two years of Public Health Care experience required.
