Description Medical Assistants provide physician support services that ensure that healthcare facilities run smoothly. They are responsible for administrative as well as clinical tasks. Requirements * Outreach to encourage the improved healthcare manage of the person served. * Adheres to and supports the mission, purpose, philosophy, objectives, policies and procedures of Tenet Physician Resources Optimize resources and opportunities through community linkages and enhance social supports. * Assists in the assessment of patient needs and health plan by taking vital signs, history and medication listing. * Completes all necessary documentation in the patient's medical record in accordance with practices charting policy. * Prepares equipment and assists physicians with medical treatments, exams and medical procedures. * Administers prescribed oral medications and gives intramuscular and subcutaneous and intradermal injections. * Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor. Education, Experience & Skills required; * High school diploma/GED required. * Completion of an accredited Medical Assisting Program; * CPR/BLS certification is required; * One year experience working in a physician office; * Knowledge of substance abuse or related field; * Good verbal and written communication skills; * Ability to work effectively on a team.
