Description POSITION OVERVIEW: Responsible for assisting physicians with patient care and providing unparallel customer service to patients while adhering to established protocols, processes and volume without ever compromising quality. ESSENTIAL FUNCTION: Rooming duties which may include cast application & removal, suture/staple removal, blood draws, & autoclave use Phreesia/MIPS Input Maintain supplies, equipment, prepare and clean exam/procedure rooms, stocking and sterilizing instruments ensuring patient rooms are stocked, cleaned, and presentable Assist physician as needed during procedure; monitor patient during recovery period Ensure all initial consultations, pertinent notes, lab slips, radiology and pathology reports are entered in the patient’s file and available to the physician prior to patient arrival Provide patient education with regards to office policies, medications, management of pain/injury/disease, home treatments and special diets using appropriate medical terminology as directed by the physician Ensure all consent forms are completed, signed and filed Respond to patient / physician / pharmacy calls calls/messages and assist with their needs Assisting the front desk with rescheduling patients when necessary Constant communication with patients with consistent follow up REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Minimum of 2 years working as a medical assistant and preferred experience with hand/arm provider.
