This is a benefited, full-time position located at Scripps Clinic Rancho Bernardo, working Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., with no weekend or holiday requirements. Your job duties: Predominantly back-office responsibilities but is expected to help with front-office duties on an as-needed basis Managing referral process Rooming patients, checking vitals, assisting with procedures Clinic prep assisting with Provider specific protocols Maintains a clean, organized, and safe environment Organizes and performs patient care services that support the physician’s practice Relaying instructions from the physician to the patient or authorized person Collecting patient data in person and by phone Documenting patient concerns, messages and care provided in the electronic medical record for the physician's review Administering medications specifically directed by the physician Scheduling of appointments and procedures Complete and accurate message taking Routing messages to the appropriate area for direction Order and referral entry, acquisition of pre-certifications Setting up of cases in EPIC plus basic registration and updating of demographics Required Qualifications: Completion of a formal Medical Assistant Program OR hold a Medical Assistant Certification OR have a minimum of two years of experience as a military corpsman BLS certification for the Healthcare Provider by the American Heart Association (AHA) Preferred Qualifications: 1 year of experience working as Medical Assistant Epic experience
Responsibilities
Perform back-office clinical duties including rooming patients, checking vitals, and assisting providers with procedures. Manage the referral process, document patient care in the electronic medical record, and handle scheduling and registration.
