North Alabama Medical Center serves as a regional facility with more than 200 physicians on staff who represent more than 42 specialty areas of medicine.  How you’ll contribute   A Medical Assistant (MA) who excels in this role:  •    Under the supervision of physician or nurse, assists with performing patient assessments and treatments.  •    Performs basic diagnostic procedures and specimen collection.  •    Monitors and communicates changes in patient condition.  •    Documents patient care given.  •    Maintains equipment and medical supplies, including reordering, stocking, cleaning, and troubleshooting.  •    Maintains examination areas.  •    Performs administrative or clerical duties as assigned, including filing, reception, scheduling, data entry, and patient registration.  What we’re looking for  Requires Critical thinking, decisive judgment, ability to work with minimal supervision in a stressful environment; rapid learning and navigation of multiple software systems; effective English communication (read/write/speak); ability to complete the Skills Competency Checklist within 90 days of hire. * Requires High School Diploma or GED and BLS provider. Responsibilities
The Medical Assistant assists physicians or nurses with patient assessments and treatments, performs basic diagnostic procedures, collects specimens, and monitors patient condition changes. They are also responsible for documenting care given, maintaining medical equipment and supplies, and handling administrative tasks like scheduling and patient registration.
