Description
The Advanced Radiology Procedures Clinic Medical Assistant provides direct patient care to a diverse patient population, supporting the radiology department and facilitating imaging and minor procedures. Currently, approximately 60% of this role is patient-facing, involving procedural and clinic-based patient care, and 40% focuses on administrative responsibilities such as scheduling, patient follow-up, and care coordination. Greet patients and families, obtain medical history, and provide education to reduce anxiety. Prepare patients for exams and assist with minor procedures, including sterile setup, specimen collection, and discharge education, under the direction of Radiologists and APPS. Manage patient drains, monitor inputs/outputs, and triage related patient concerns. Triage patients and family calls and collaborate with the care team on next steps. Coordinate patient care and work collaboratively with Radiologists, APPS, nurses, technologists, and schedulers. Schedule radiology exams and procedures. Maintain clinic readiness, including room cleanliness, supply stocking, equipment checks, and documentation per department workflow. Eligible for $1,250 Sign-on Bonus Discover. Achieve. Succeed. #BeHere Position Details Location: Milwaukee, WI (Froedtert Hospital) – On-Site FTE: 0.001 Standard Hours: Pick Up Shift: 1 Schedule: Shifts would be between Monday-Friday 7:30am-4pm. Typically, 1 shift per week; minimum of 3 shifts per month based on departmental needs. Shifts are as needed to cover PTO, high-volume workload periods, and LOA coverage. Licenses & Certifications and Educational Requirements Medical Assistant (MA): Education: High school diploma (or GED) required plus one of the following: Completion of an MA program, or Completion of an EMT-Basic course, or Trained on the job MA AND one year experience in health care, or Completion of an MA Apprentice program Certification: American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Providers (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent required within 90 days of hire. Experience: 1 year of healthcare experience preferred. Medical Assistant Senior (MA Sr): Education: HS Diploma or GED is required. Certification: American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Providers (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent is required within 90 days of hire. Additionally, one of the following is required: Military Medic/Corpsman training (must also obtain one of the certifications or licenses below within 6 months of hire), or Certified/Registered Medical Assistant through one of the following: Credentialed in ABR-OE (Assessment-Based Recognition in Order Entry), or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), or NRCMA - Medical Assistant through the National Association for Health Professionals, or CCMA Certified Clinical Medical Assistant, or Certified Medical Assistant through the National Phlebotomy Certification Examination (NPCE) Certified Paramedic, or Advanced EMT, or Graduated from an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) program and current active LPN license, or Other certification from an approved body as maintained by Froedtert Human Resources Experience: 1 year of experience as medical assistant or in the field of the credential held is required.
