Description The Medical Assistant provides medical care (in person or via telemedicine), and works as part of a team with Patient Service Representative, Providers, and Family Practice Administrator to ensure smooth continuum of care for identified patients, many of which are high risk. This includes facilitating the efficient flow of patients through the clinic and providing direct patient care. Also, assisting with client follow-up and chart maintenance, and keeping exam rooms, lab area, and bathrooms orderly. Requirements Current NYS Medical Assistant/Nursing Assistant Certification or equivalent with proven knowledge of patient care, completion of medical assisting course or at least 1 year experience in medical assisting or equivalent experience at the discretion of the supervisor, or High School Diploma required. Has excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills. Is skilled with computers and computer applications. Gives attention to detail and possesses problem resolution skills. Has a positive attitude and high energy, is a quick learner, is adaptable to change and is resourceful and proactive when identifying and resolving problems.
