You'll be supported as you follow your dreams and find where you belong, here at Tradition Hospital. As a Medical Assistant, you will support daily activities within the ambulatory OB/GYN setting. You will assist caregivers, nurses and the new providers with multiple tasks, from medication administration to equipment management. This department can get busy, so the ideal candidate will be compassionate and capable of multi-tasking to meet patient needs. You may periodically float to the Stuart office, offering an additional way to grow and use your skills. Numerous professional development opportunities are also available, including committee involvement and My Learning courses. A caregiver in this position works Monday-Friday from 8:00AM – 5:00PM or 7:30AM – 4:00PM. A caregiver who excels in this role will: Assist with performing screenings and treatments by gathering and updating information related to health maintenance, identifying medication changes, updating allergy information, collecting specimens, performing tests and documenting patient care. Monitor and communicate changes in patient condition. Administer specific medications under the direction of the provider. Maintain equipment, medical supplies and examination areas. Perform administrative/clerical duties, such as filing, reception, scheduling, data entry and patient registration. Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: Graduate from an approved Medical Assisting program Military training as a hospital Corpsman (HM), Combat Medic (68W) or Medical Service Technician (4N0X1) will be considered Completion of a clinical externship OR extensive clinical experience Current demonstrated clinical proficiency Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: Medical Assisting certification (CMA, NCMA, CCMA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (If you do not hold this certification, you must obtain it during your new hire period) Successful completion of a Cleveland Clinic externship Our caregivers continue to create the best outcomes for our patients across each of our facilities.
