Description We are seeking an experienced and motivated Medical Assistant to join our team at our Greenwood office. As part of a well-established, multi-specialty medical group that has proudly served the community for over 50 years, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality, compassionate patient care. This position offers the opportunity to work alongside a collaborative team of providers and healthcare professionals in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and committed to excellence in both clinical and administrative support functions. DUTIES PERFORMED: Frequently performs nursing and administrative duties related to patient care management. Frequently prepares patients for examination and treatment. Takes patient vital signs, reviews medications and allergies with the patient and enters all health questionnaire information in the electronic medical record. Frequently prepares exam and treatment rooms with necessary instruments and supplies. Frequently gives injections. Occasionally applies splints and dressings as ordered. Occasionally prepares and maintains supplies and equipment for treatments, including sterilization. Occasionally assists medical providers in preparing for surgical procedures, Pap Smears, and physicals. Constantly verifies all patients by date of birth (DOB) and full name. Performs other duties as assigned. PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS: Skill in administering a variety of examination and treatment procedures. Skill in taking vital signs. Knowledge of HIPAA and adheres to confidentiality guidelines of the documents that will be handled. Excellent organization skills and attention to detail Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment Ability to understand and effectively work in Microsoft Office Ability to organize and prioritize work and manage multiple priorities. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with providers, management, staff and contacts outside the organization. COMPENSATION: Non-Certified Hourly Range: $17.00 - $25.00 (based on experience) Certified Hourly Range: $18.00 - $26.00 (based on experience) Medical benefits including vision and dental (dependent upon job status) 401k profit sharing plan eligible after one year and 1,000 hours Paid holiday, vacation, and personal leave ENVIRONMENT: Outpatient, clinical care setting Requirements EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma or GED required Medical Assistant Training from an Accredited School Certification from NHA or AAMA or completed within 6 months of hire date CPR Certification required and maintained PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and hand-eye coordination. Involves standing, walking, and sitting for prolonged periods of time. Occasionally requires lifting and carrying items weighing up to 100 pounds. Requires normal or corrected visual acuity and hearing. Requires exposure to bodily fluids. Ability to understand and effectively work in Microsoft Outlook, practice management systems, and electronic medical record system. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is performed in a clinical environment. Frequent exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, medicinal preparations, and other conditions common to a clinical environment. Work may be stressful at times. Interaction with others is constant and interruptive. Frequent contact involves dealing with sick people.
