UPMC Cole Memorial Medical Group is hiring a full-time Medical Assistant for our outpatient float pool team. Monday - Friday | No weekends or holidays Five 8-hour shifts | As scheduled between 7:00 am - 6:30 pm Offices covered: Bradford, Coudersport, Eldred, Emporium, Galeton, Port Allegany, Shinglehouse, Smethport, Ulysses, & Westfield Competitive travel reimbursement offered Responsibilities: Manage patient flow: Check schedules, escort patients to exam rooms, and assist with mobility, dressing, and specimen collection. Prepare patients: Take vitals, collect history, perform screenings, and explain provider instructions. Support clinical care: Perform phlebotomy, EKGs, and basic labs; assist with procedures; document in the medical record. Administer injections and vaccines under physician supervision. Maintain exam rooms: Set up instruments, clean and disinfect rooms and equipment, and restock supplies. Handle front office tasks: Answer calls, schedule appointments, verify insurance, complete forms, and manage charts. Coordinate records: Send/receive medical records and obtain lab/x-ray reports in compliance with HIPAA and regulations. Ensure compliance: Follow OSHA, CLIA, and PA Department of Health standards; maintain confidentiality; adhere to UPMC policies. High school diploma or equivalent is required. Must have basic computer skills and knowledge of medical terminology, examination, diagnostic and treatment room responsibilities. Preferred: Successful completion of a Medical Assistant program or equivalent hospital program, or one year of direct patient care experience. Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire Act 33 with renewal Act 34 with renewal Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal UPMC is an Equal Opportunity Employer/Disability/Veteran
