OVERVIEW

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our pain clinic team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in ensuring smooth clinic operations by supporting physicians with patient care and maintaining accurate, thorough documentation. This role requires excellent organizational skills, professionalism, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or GED required; MOA certification is an asset.
  • Experience with chart review, medical documentation, and note preparation strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical office procedures and medical terminology an asset
  • Previous experience in a clinical or hospital setting an asset.
  • Familiarity with Oscar Pro EMR preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with close attention to detail.
  • Reliable transportation for travel to Hamilton and St. Catharines.
  • Professionalism, dependability, and a positive attitude.
  • Willingness to learn!

Responsibilities
  • Travel between clinic locations (Hamilton & St. Catharines, possible future expansion).
  • Prepare and review patient charts prior to physician visits, ensuring all notes, imaging, and reports are available.
  • Document and prepare notes for physician use before, during, and after patient visits.
  • Assist with injection visits by preparing charts and documenting procedures.
  • Perform routine clinical tasks, including vital signs and preparing patients for exams.
  • Manage and update patient information within the EMR
  • Request, obtain, and upload reports from external facilities for physician review.
  • Support scheduling, appointment reminders, and follow-up calls.
  • Fax, scan, and organize documentation for continuity of care.
  • Review physician schedules for upcoming patient visits and prepare necessary documentation, imaging reports, and prior procedure notes.
  • Assist physicians with limited clinical tasks as directed (e.g., patient flow, exam prep).
  • Provide general administrative and clerical support to ensure smooth clinic operation.
