POSITION SUMMARY Assist physicians with various aspects of patient care (including clerical, environmental, and organizational tasks) ensuring patient satisfaction. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Education: 1. High School education or equivalent is required 2. Successful completion of Medical Assistant program preferred or equivalent healthcare program or minimum of one year of direct patient care experience. 3. Must have basic computer skills and knowledge of medical terminology, examination, diagnostic and treatment room responsibilities. Experience: 1. Previous Medical Assistant experience preferred. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: 1. Effectively functions as a team member and as a liaison between patient and staff. 2. Supports and encourages harmonious communication skills. 3. Uses verbal, non-verbal, and written communication skills. 4. Demonstrates high level of mental and emotional tolerance, uses tact, sensitivity and sound judgments. 5. Communicates in highly professional manner at all times. License/Certification/Registration: 1. BLS required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component. SUPERVISION RECEIVED Receives general supervision from the Practice Manager/Provider(s).  May also be accountable to Clinical Coordinator, Administrative Coordinator, or Director of Operations.  Performs under standard practices which enables the employee to proceed alone on routine work assignments referring questionable cases to the provider responsible for the assigned patients.
