This is a full time, professional position reporting directly to the Dean/Director of Education. As the leader of the education programs, the Program Chair is responsible for managing the education department using sound business principles and ensuring compliance with all regulatory, accreditation and company policies and procedures. This position requires some evening and occasional Saturday hours.   The Program Director teaches in his/her assigned discipline, works with faculty to promote continuous improvement of the quality of instruction within the assigned program(s), is the lead administrator for the departments, and, as such, is responsible for faculty training and development, coordinating and administering the academic program(s) and student outcomes and activities within the department. Qualifications * Completion of a Medical Assistant program resulting in a diploma or certificate of completion; associate degree preferred. * Expertise in interpersonal and verbal presentation/written communication skills.  * Ability to provide effective direction and leadership and work effectively and collaboratively with others. * Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Medical Assistant. * Prior higher education/postsecondary related teaching experience of at least 2 years. * Associate degree in the discipline as required by accrediting and licensing agency standards. * Certifications depending upon discipline as per accreditation and state licensing standards * RMA and/or * CMA and/or * CCMA
Responsibilities
The Program Director is responsible for managing the education department, ensuring compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards, and promoting continuous improvement in instruction quality.
