POSITION SUMMARY: We are seeking a compassionate, dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to support our providers in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring smooth daily operations by managing patient flow, collecting and documenting clinical information, and assisting with examinations and procedures. You will also support patient education and communication while upholding the highest standards of professionalism, safety, and regulatory compliance. This position offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment where your contributions directly impact the patient experience. Schedule: Full-time (40 hours/week) with a half-day Saturday rotation about once every 4 weeks (9?am–1?pm). A weekday half-day off is given when scheduled on Saturday. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job, an individual must perform each essential function satisfactorily with or without a reasonable accommodation. Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and other staff members in a professional and courteous manner. Politely escort patients from waiting room to exam room. Obtain patient medical history in electronic health records (EHR), vital signs, medication dosage and frequency, patient allergens, and assist with examinations. Complete all forms, prior authorizations, and paperwork as requested by provider to facilitate patient care. Monitors the quality of care based on pre-established outcome-oriented indicators. Updating patient’s chart under the direction of the provider during patient visits, recording detailed information into the electronic health records (EHR) system, including medical histories, physical examinations, and treatment plans while using medical terminology and abbreviations according to all clinical quality measures. Review patient charts for completeness after visit or after phone call. Provide documentation to patients with clear instructions and / or education regarding their care plan. Prepare exam and treatment rooms before and after patient visit; be sure room is equipped with necessary instruments and supplies for patient’s visit, package and sterilize instruments as needed, ensure room is properly sanitized and ready for patient, and monitor inventory, notifying management if supplies need to be ordered. Understand the Vaccines for Children Program. Perform daily, weekly, and monthly nursing duties according to schedule including, but not limited to laboratory quality checks, refrigerator temperature monitoring, check eye wash station. Return messages and follow up on patient requests either by telephone or patient portal in a timely manner. Maintain strict confidentiality; adheres to all HIPAA guidelines/regulations. Follow all OSHA and Safety regulations and procedures set forth by the Practice. Demonstrate dedication to the mission, vision, values, and goals of the organization. Regular and reliable attendance including attending monthly staff meetings. Perform other duties as assigned Requirements High School diploma or GED Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program with a certificate or diploma of completion Minimum of one (1) year of professional, Medical Assistant experience Some Pediatric experience Current BLS certification or willingness to obtain prior to hire Preferred Qualifications Certified Medical Assistant (CCMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) credentialed through one of the following recognized organizations: NHA, AMT, AAMA, NAHP, NCCT, AAH, or AMCA Bilingual, Spanish Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Excellent communication, organizational, and multitasking skills Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced clinical environment Strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare staff The ability to think critically, solve challenges and productively manage conflict Detail oriented and organized with the ability to perform duties under pressure, prioritize workload, and meet deadlines If you’re inspired by the opportunity to support pediatric patients and create a positive experience for families, we encourage you to apply!
