Description Our Dermatology team in Depew, NY is seeking a compassionate Medical Assistant to join us in delivering exceptional care to our patients. We offer: Monday through Friday schedule Medical Insurance via Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield HRA - employer funded Dental Insurance and Vision Insurance 401(k) with company match Company paid life insurance, options for LTD, Critical Illness, Accident Generous Vacation and Sick time 11 Holidays As a Medical Assistant, you will prepare charts for upcoming patient appointments, obtain vitals, conduct patient intake as directed, and assist the providers during office hours so that patients are treated in a prompt, efficient and courteous manner. Responsibilities: Completes chart prep 24-48 hours prior to patient appointment to ensure chart is complete with notes, pathology report, test results, medications, allergies, etc. Timely and accurate documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) Assist surgeons in mini OR with minor surgical procedures that require knowledge of sterile procedure and autoclaving instruments Maintain confidentiality of all current and former patients/charts as required by clinic policy and governing laws Follow proper protocol for securing workstation when walking away Document in the EMR using only your assigned login Escorts patients to exam room, obtain vitals, updates patient history, reconciles medications, allergies, and any required quality data Provides patient with orders, education and medication instructions as directed by Provider Cleans and prepares exam rooms for each patient Empties hazardous waste receptacles when full Identify and properly label all specimen tubes for testing Follows up on Electronic Medical Record documents routed to him/her by the Providers Accurately and efficiently respond to tasks received from providers and other office staff Must adhere to policies, procedures and regulations as outlined in the office policy and procedures manual Interact with fellow workers in a way that promotes a harmonious and cooperative working environment Assist provider with procedures as required. Be expected to utilize spare time in work related activities which contribute to the clinic's needs May intercept patient phone calls regarding clinical issues Stocks exam rooms with medical supplies, as necessary Attends meetings as required Performs other related duties as assigned or requested Education/Experience: Successful completion of an accredited medical office assistant education program or phlebotomy program High School diploma or G.E.D. and the equivalent of one (1) year of full-time clinical or administrative health care experience OR High School diploma or G.E.D. and the equivalent of six (6) months of full-time RPCI Oncology, PC clinical or administrative health care experience One year experience as MA preferred Certifications/Licenses: Certified MA, Registered MA or Certified Phlebotomist BLS Certification is required Requirements Education/Experience: Successful completion of an accredited medical office assistant education program or phlebotomy program High School diploma or G.E.D. and the equivalent of one (1) year of full-time clinical or administrative health care experience OR High School diploma or G.E.D. and the equivalent of six (6) months of full-time RPCI Oncology, PC clinical or administrative health care experience One year experience as MA preferred Certifications/Licenses: Certified MA, Registered MA or Certified Phlebotomist BLS Certification is required
