Description
Medical Assistants assist physicians with various aspects of patient care (including clerical, environmental, and organizational tasks) ensuring patient satisfaction. Additionally, they serve as the lead person for team regarding day-to-day workflow issues or office procedures. Title and Rate of pay will be based on Education and Experience Responsibilities: Supports clinical workflow by guiding staff, assigning tasks, and assisting with supervisory duties. Helps implement departmental goals and procedures, mentors new and existing staff, and serves as the Epic Care super user. Collaborates with management to improve clinical operations, infection control, and patient assessments. Leads staff meetings to communicate procedural updates and enhance service quality and safety. Proficient in all practice-specific tasks, including managing medical records, scheduling, verifying insurance, and preparing charts. Ensures exam rooms and equipment are cleaned and stocked per protocol. Assists patients with mobility, vitals, screenings, and education. Answers calls, provides information, and supports individualized patient needs. Under physician supervision, administers injections, performs EKGs, phlebotomy, and assists with procedures. Ensures compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and other regulatory requirements, maintaining confidentiality and adhering to all policies. High school diploma or equivalent is required. Successful completion of Medical Assistant Program or equivalent hospital program (LPN/RN/EMT) OR successful completion of certification examination (AMT, AAMA, NAHP, NCCT, or NHA) OR at least 1 year of patient care experience required. Must have basic computer skills and knowledge of medical terminology, examination, diagnostic and treatment room responsibilities. Phlebotomy skills preferred Previous Pediatric experience preferred. Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances: CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.
