This role is for either a certified or non-certified MA. Based in our Central Business Office, this position supports many of our TOA facilities. The MA Intake partners with our clinical staff and clinical administrative team members to ensure our patients receive excellent service. Our MAs demonstrate a deeply rooted compassion for helping our patients, and a commitment to making sure our operations run smoothly and effectively. Receives medical information from our Patient Access Representative or patient kiosk, and accurately enters patient information into NextGen, our Electronic Health Record (EHR). Review charts and file for completeness Assists with the scheduling of tests and treatments Coordinates patients’ surgeries including scheduling, insurance coverage and pre-certifications for surgeries if needed. Responds to patient and payor phone calls by securing information from physician and/or providing the appropriate information. Screens telephone calls for referral to nurse or physician. Participates in professional development activities and maintains professional affiliations Requirements Here are the qualifications for our Medical Assistant: Graduation from an accredited program for Register and/or Certification Medical Assistants is preferred but not required A current and unencumbered MA Certification through a sanctioned third-party, such as The American Registry of Medical Assistants, National Health career Association, American Association of Medical Assistants, National Center for Competency Testing, or American Medical Technologists is preferred but not required Exceptional focus on attention to detail, ensuring that all documentation is entered accurately and swiftly
