Description It's never too late to begin a new career! This position is located next to the hospital on Davis Island and will also rotate to our offices on Falkenburg Rd in Riverview. Our Urology practice with 6 providers is looking to add to our Medical Assistant team. Our offices are very busy and our Medical Assistant position is not going to be boring. We recently have joined with Tampa General Hospital to provide urology services to the Tampa Bay community so we are expanding and need your help! This is a fast paced position so experience would be helpful. Job Summary: Escort patients to exam rooms, interviews patients, measure vital signs, including weight, blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and document all information in patient’s chart (EPIC EHR) Give instructions to patients as instructed by physician or physician assistant Ensure all related reports, labs and information is filed is available inpatients’ medical records prior to their appointment Keep exam rooms stocked with adequate medical supplies, maintain instruments, prepare sterilization as required Take telephone messages and provide feedback and answers to patient/physician/pharmacy calls Triage and process messages from patients and front office staff to physicians and physician assistants Maintain all logs and required checks (i.e. refrigerator temperatures, emergency medications, expired medications, oxygen, cold sterilization fluid change, etc.) Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred but not required. Requirements We seek a Medical Assistant that has excellent organizational skills, is skilled at prioritizing tasks, and can communicate effectively, efficiently and in a timely matter with patients. Ability to perform phlebotomy and administer injections. We are looking for a team player that can help out with a smile on their face.
