The role focuses on delivering outstanding patient care while efficiently managing the administrative and operational tasks of the medical office. What you will do as a WMCHC Medical Assistant: Answer phones in a timely, professional manner. Forward calls or takes detailed messages as appropriate. Demonstrate proper and accurate charting of patients and procedures. Demonstrate effective knowledge of medical terminology and medical abbreviations. Cooperatively assist doctor with office exams and procedures. Demonstrate bandaging skills. Demonstrate knowledge of basic first aid. Appropriately perform/demonstrate knowledge and/or use of vitals, exam room preparation, medical/surgical aseptic techniques, patients’ rights and ethics, venipuncture, collecting specimens, etc. Other duties as assigned.
