• Process medical claims accurately, ensuring compliance with hospice billing standards.
• Follow up on outstanding medical claims and resolve denials with insurance providers.
• Handle appeals for denied claims, submitting the required documentation and tracking outcomes.
• Collaborate with insurance companies to address and resolve payment discrepancies.
• Maintain detailed records of billing activities, payments, and adjustments.
• Apply knowledge of medical terminology to review and verify billing codes.
• Ensure timely submission of claims and adherence to deadlines.
• Communicate with patients and families to clarify billing questions and resolve concerns.
• Stay updated on changes in billing regulations and insurance policies.
• Identify trends in claim denials and recommend process improvements.
• Proven experience in medical billing and collections, with a focus on hospice care.
• Proficiency in handling medical claims, appeals, and denials.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology and billing codes.
• Familiarity with insurance policies and payment processes.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
