JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Medical Billing and Coding Specialist to join our healthcare team. We are a busy, reputable Rheumatology practice looking for an experienced In-House biller to join our team. The ideal candidate should have knowledge of Rheumatology billing practices, particularly related to biologic infusions, and will have the ability to handle patient accounts with efficiency and professionalism. You will be responsible for ensuring timely and accurate billing, follow-up on outstanding dues, and supporting the practice’s revenue cycle operations. This role is crucial in ensuring accurate billing and coding for medical services provided to patients. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of medical terminology, coding systems, and billing processes, contributing to the efficient operation of our medical office.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Proven experience in medical billing and coding, preferably within a medical office (Rheumatology) setting.
  • Proficiency in ICD coding (ICD-9 & ICD-10) and CPT/HCPCS coding systems.
  • Familiarity with DRG classifications and their application in billing processes.
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology related to various specialties.
  • Experience with EMR and EHR systems (Next Gen) for efficient record management.
  • Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with medical billing software (e.g., Kareo, Epic, Athena, etc.) and Microsoft Office Suite.
