Are you an experienced billing professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys working with a dedicated healthcare team? Our busy surgical practice is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Medical Billing Specialist to join our administrative team.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 2+ years of medical billing experience (surgical or specialty billing preferred)
• Strong knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and modifiers specific to surgical billing
• Experience with claim appeals and denial management
• Familiarity with EMRs and billing software (eCW a plus)
• Excellent communication, organizational, and follow-through skills

ABOUT THE ROLE:

You will play a key role in ensuring accurate billing and timely reimbursement for surgical procedures. The ideal candidate is familiar with commercial and government payers, understands surgical coding and authorization workflows, and is comfortable navigating EMR systems and clearinghouses.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Process and submit insurance claims for surgical procedures
• Verify insurance eligibility and obtain prior authorizations
• Post payments, reconcile EOBs, and resolve discrepancies
• Follow up on outstanding claims and denials
• Work closely with clinical staff to ensure documentation supports billing
• Maintain compliance with HIPAA and payer guidelines
