Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Medical Biller to join our team. The Medical Biller will be responsible for submitting claims to insurance companies, ensuring timely reimbursement for services rendered and patient collections. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of medical billing processes, coding systems, and medical terminology as well as effective communication and great people skills.
Duties:
- Review and verify patient information for accuracy and completeness
- Collaborate with providers to assign appropriate medical codes (ICD-10) to diagnoses and procedures
- Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies electronically or by mail
- Follow up on unpaid or denied claims and resubmit as necessary
- Communicate with insurance companies to resolve billing issues or discrepancies
- Maintain patient records and ensure confidentiality of sensitive information
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure accurate documentation of services rendered
- Patient billing and collections
- Stay up-to-date with changes in coding regulations and insurance requirements
Experience:
- Previous experience in a medical office or healthcare setting
- Proficiency in medical billing software systems
- Strong knowledge of medical coding systems (ICD-10)
- Familiarity with medical terminology and procedures
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
