Position Title: Medical Clinical Assistant (MCA) Instructor (part-time/afternoon)

POSITION OVERVIEW: The instructor creates, manages, and participates in a variety of learning environments and activities that provide opportunities for students to develop to their fullest potential and achieve their learning objectives. The instructor participates collaboratively and professionally with other faculty and staff to promote the general well-being of the department and the college and of the collective and individual interests of its staff and student body. The instructor supports and seeks always to fulfill the guiding concepts for the college embodied in the philosophy, mission, values, and vision adopted by the college.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum of a certificate of completion as a Medical Assistant.
- Must be CCMA, CMA, RMA, or NCMA certified.
- Four years of experience in the subject field within the last 10 years.
- Teaching experience at the post-secondary level (preferred).
- Front and back office experience.
- Available from 1 PM to 10 PM.
- Faculty teaching any hybrid distance education courses or in any of the hybrid programs, must demonstrate proficiency in operating computer programs like Word and Excel.
- Prior teaching experience in distance education instruction is a plus.
- Must be able to work flexible hours.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Must possess good presentation skills and the ability to speak in public.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, plus analytical, organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in computer skills.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English fluently.
- Must be customer service-oriented.
- Ability and willingness to comply with school policies and procedures.
- Ability to evaluate objectively, fairly, and consistently.
- Creativity and initiative.
- Ability to correctly use and demonstrate all regular equipment and tools within the subject field.
Work Environment
Typical classroom and shop environment.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
