JOB SUMMARY AND QUALIFICATIONS

As the Collections Representative, you will contributeto the company’s mission, vision, and values bycompletingfollow-up and collectionsforpatient services. Underthesupervision of the Business Office Manager/Business Office Supervisor, you will obtain paymentfrom third party payers andself-payaccounts to enhance cash flow andgatherreimbursement based on established contracts.

What you will do in this role:

  • You will performfollow up activitiesonaccounts to ensure prompt payment
  • You willidentifycoding or billingerrors from EOBsand work to correct them
  • You willmonitorinsurance claimsand contactinsurance companies to resolve claims
  • You will updatethe patient account record toidentifyactions taken
  • You will assignbad debttothecollection agency
  • You will actas aliaisonaccountsand administer contractsin collection of third partyaccounts(Medicare and Medicaid)
  • You will completeaccountreconciliation of accountsturned over to outside agencies
  • You will negotiatepayment plans onself-payaccounts
  • Youare responsible formaintainingaccounts receivableandcreating a reduction inbad debt

Qualifications you will need:

  • Minimum (1) year of experience in a medical office settinghighlypreferred. (i.e.ambulatory surgery center, hospital,doctorsoffice) preferred
  • Knowledge of managed care payers and medical terminology is preferred

At the Surgery Ventures Central Business office in MidAmerica, we support financial and patient care operations of 8 ambulatory surgery centers across the Kansas City Metro. Staff are assigned to work with one or more surgery centers via remote, in office and hybrid working environments.
