Responsibilities
  • Follow established protocol for residents’ personal care, special dietary requirements, and medical needs.
  • Schedule and coordinate health care appointments for persons living in Quest’s residential programs and ensure follow-up as recommended by physician.
  • Implement and document training activities as specified in the support plan toinclude, but not limited to areas of behavior, self-help, daily living, social and leisure skills, community inclusion, physical and nutritional management.
  • Provide positive social and leisure interaction daily.
  • Implement behavior reduction & management programs as directed and document same.
  • Document information daily pertaining to programs, leisure activities, and other communication applicable to individuals in the program, including the daily communication log.
  • Administer prescribed medications, monitor self-administrations of medications, follow protocol for disposal of medications, maintain medication count, and communicate with pharmacy as needed.
  • Act as a liaison between Quest, the physician(s) of the people served and the pharmacy to ensure that all medications are documented on the Medication Administration Record (MAR) in accordance with 65G-7.
  • Maintain medical records for persons served in accordance with agency policy and all program regulations.
  • Monitor and report as needed any issues related to the personal care and medical needs of people served including repair needs for wheelchairs or adaptive equipment.
  • Maintain a clean and safe home-like atmosphere while encouraging personal choices.
  • Ensure all emergency procedures are followed during a drill or emergency.
  • Assess internal and external health and safety issues and correct or report them.
  • Operate a company vehicle/van to transport individuals as requested and complete vehicle/lift inspections prior to operation.
  • Report all incidents of abuse/neglect in accordance with the Disabled Abuse Act, to the abuse registry.
  • Follow all policies and procedures and other duties as required and requested by supervisors
