This position is responsible for providing medical copyediting for the NCCN Guidelines for Patients. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: Proofread and copyedit NCCN Guidelines for Patients for grammar, punctuation, style, consistency, NCCN brand style/design, and overall flow and clarity Proofread and copyedit other NCCN content as required Act as department resource on grammar, punctuation, and other editorial issues Maintain Patient Guidelines copyediting process document Maintain Salesforce progress reports for tracking of various projects Perform other related duties as assigned Requirements EDUCATION/RELATED EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree in English or Communications or equivalent experience required 5+ years of experience proofreading and copyediting medical content Proficient use of AMA editorial style required Experience with medical terminology required/Oncology terminology preferred Experience with InDesign and Survey Monkey preferred Project management experience preferred SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Strong knowledge of health literacy principles and plain language Strong proofreading and medical copyediting skills and absolute attention to detail Must be proficient in MS Office and Adobe products Good organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously Must have ability to prioritize assignments and meet deadlines Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact effectively with internal and external personnel at various levels Work Environment & Physical Requirements: This position operates in a professional office environment and is largely sedentary. This role routinely requires the use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
