In addition to healthcare laundry at our large commercial laundry plant in South Burnaby, we are also responsible for distributing linens in some of the hospitals and long-term care facilities we service.

POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking a Part-Time Medical Device Reprocessing Technician to join our South Burnaby facility. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing, sterilizing, and distributing linen packs while ensuring strict adherence to infection control and safety protocols. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

  • Certificate or diploma in Medical Device Reprocessing from an accredited institution
  • CSA-MDRT certification is preferred.
  • Familiarity with medical or surgical terminology is an asset.
  • Strong understanding of sterilization protocols and cycle monitoring techniques
  • Physically capable of operating sterilization equipment and performing manual tasks
  • Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English
  • Detail-oriented with excellent record-keeping and organizational skills
  • Punctual, responsible, and reliable
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision

Responsibilities
  • Assemble and prepare linen packs for sterilization.
  • Load and unload medium-sized, carriage-loading steam sterilizers.
  • Monitor sterilization processes using biological indicators, chemical indicators, and cycle records.
  • Maintain accurate documentation for traceability and quality compliance.
  • Manage inventory control, restocking, and preparation of sterilized packs for delivery.
  • Load delivery carts, ensuring completeness and accuracy of preparation and paperwork.
  • Adhere to infection control protocols, quality standards, and workplace safety guidelines.
