We are pleased to offer an exciting opportunity to join our Transforming Cancer Services Team here at Velindre Trust.
As the Medical Devices Lead you will work within the Medical Physics and Clinical Engineering (MPCE) department taking the lead for Medical Devices within the Velindre Cancer Service (VCS) including working closely with the project team for the new Velindre Cancer Centre (nVCC) within the equipment workstream and be responsible for leading, influencing and delivering work programmes relating to the clinical equipping of the nVCC.
The post holder will provide expert advice and support to the Medical Devices team within the Clinical Engineering section and nVCC Equipment Workstream in relation to maintaining, planning, sourcing, commissioning of all medical devices within VCS including those necessary for the commencement of services within the nVCC, drawing on internal and external knowledge sources as appropriate.
The postholder will work closely with clinical services within the VCC to ensure that suitable and appropriate specifications are developed for all medical devices that are subject to procurement events.
The postholder will manage other technologists within MPCE working in Medical Devices and is responsible for reporting on key metrics to assure the Head of Engineering and the Director of MPCE of the performance of the Medical Devices service.
