Job Summary:
Medical Director-Associate Professor/Professor in the Division of Gynecologic Oncology, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Clinical Responsibilities: Maintain an active clinical practice in Gynecologic Oncology including medical and surgical management and chemotherapy. Assume leadership role in maintaining high quality services. Oversee Division schedules and workloads to ensure appropriate coverage for all practice sites. Act as resource to physicians in the department and in the community.
Education Responsibilities: Direct Gynecologic Oncology rotation for residents to meet CREOG requirements. Direct rotations for medical oncology fellows and fourth year medical students. Oversee Gyn Oncology Tumor Board and maintain CME certification. Provide formal didactic presentations for Grand Rounds and resident lecture series.
Research Responsibilities: Manage clinical research program including: maintain current grants; vet new clinical trials; oversee opening and closing of trials; supervise trial conduct ensuring protocol adherence and quality of data. Work with CRA staff on grant budgets and regulatory issues. Initiate and supervise local research projects. Mentor faculty, residents and students in conduct of clinical research. Serve as institutional PI for NRG Oncology cooperative trial group and GOG Partners trials.
Administrative Responsibilities: Work with Hospital and Departmental Administration on issues pertaining to division workload distribution, staffing, and quality. Assist with faculty and staff recruitment. Oversee implementation of clinical pathways and QI measures. Participate in Departmental, Hospital and University committees as appointed by the Chair of the Department. Oversee division faculty schedules.
Additional Leadership Responsibilities: Lead the Gynecologic Oncology Program within the Upstate Cancer Center by actively participating in the Cancer Center Clinical Management and Operations Committee leading multidisciplinary cancer care models, quality improvement activities, operational excellence, and financial performance. Working with Cancer Center leadership, establish and achieve goals in Co-management model.
Minimum Qualifications:
Board certified in Gynecologic Oncology. Minimum 10 years experience. Strong leadership and organizational skills with practice management experience. Clinical expertise including radical and robotic surgery, chemotherapy and medical management of gynecologic cancers. Experience in directing funded clinical trials.
Successful completion of investigator initiated research. Dedication to medical education; experience in direction of education programs preferred. Eligible for faculty appointment at the Associate or Professor level. Must have NPI and be eligible to participate with Medicare and Medicaid programs. Appointment contingent on obtaining and maintaining New York State medical license.
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of Epic EMR.
Work Days:
Monday-Friday with Rotating Weekends Holidays and Night Call Coverage
