MEDICAL DIRECTOR (FULL-TIME OR PART-TIME)

Location: Florida preferred (Tampa-based ideal, remote with travel considered)

POSITION OVERVIEW

HealthyConnect is seeking a forward-thinking, clinically active Medical Director to lead our growing network of Medicaid- and Medicare-focused virtual primary care clinics. This is a rare opportunity to help build the next generation of population health–optimized care delivery, combining virtual-first models, care management infrastructure, real-time data integration, and community-based access points — including partnerships with pharmacies and hospitals.
The ideal candidate is an innovative, collaborative physician eager to reimagine primary care from the ground up and help scale our unique model across Florida and the broader Southeast. Candidates may begin part-time or full-time, which clinical & strategic responsibilities evolving as the practice scales.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • M.D. or D.O., board certified in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or equivalent
  • Licensed in Florida (or eligible); multi-state licenses a plus
  • Clinical experience with Medicaid populations preferred; FQHC or value-based care experience a plus
  • Comfortable with telehealth platforms, care management tools, and EMRs (Athena a plus)
  • Passion for health equity, digital innovation, and patient-centered systems

Responsibilities
  • Serve as Medical Director for one or more HC-affiliated clinical entities
  • Lead clinical strategy and care model design for Medicaid, Medicare, and dual-eligible patients
  • Conduct telehealth appointments initially (up to 10 per day); supervise care team growth over time
  • Oversee and support NP and MA staffing, clinical documentation, and protocols
  • Assist in obtaining credentialing and delegation agreements with hospitals, SNFs, and MCOs
  • Collaborate with product, operations, and tech teams to optimize workflows and patient experience
  • Represent HC to community partners, health plans, and state/regional medical associations
