Every aspect of your work will reflect the Legacy mission of making life better for others. This position provides medical leadership and clinical oversight to assigned specialty clinic practice. Supervises all physicians at his or her assigned clinic site(s). Assists in establishing and operating within department budgets. Assists with program development and oversees quality of care for the practice. Responsibilities In collaboration with the Clinic Manager: Plans and facilitates clinic and provider meetings. Promotes service excellence. Regularly reviews customer/quality survey data and addresses trends that are identified. Monitors access to care, assuring that patient contact time requirements are met. Authorizes physician/Allied Health Professional (AHP) requests for time off. Addresses clinical and administrative issues occurring in daily clinic operation. Oversees orientation and mentorship of new physicians/ AHPs. Participates in medical director and leadership committee meetings. Facilitates call schedule for clinic site(s) and manages changes as appropriate for specific site(s). Helps address quality, access, and productivity concerns at site(s). In collaboration with clinics leadership, meets with site providers to develop and implement performance improvement plans when a provider isn’t meeting expectations. Promotes quality initiatives at site. Collaborates with other departments/sites as appropriate, to provide high quality continuity of care for all patients of the clinic. Models, monitors and encourages well-being for staff and Physician/ AHP colleagues. Encourages participation in Legacy Research projects. Participates in marketing and community relations to help promote clinic practice. Participates and encourages employee positive recognition program/processes. Provides input and direction for the provider compensation plan. Human Resources Management: Completes annual performance reviews for physicians employed at clinic site. Leads and/or participates in first level performance counseling of physician/ AHPs at clinic site(s), as needed. Clearly communicates performance and behavioral expectations to physicians/AHPs. Participates in recruitment and hiring activities, as appropriate. Provides clinical direction, education and support to clinic staff. Collaborates to develop and implement outpatient standards of care and policies and procedures, which meet the regulations and guidelines of appropriate government agencies and accrediting organizations. Qualifications Education: Graduate of a four-year accredited U.S. Medical school or equivalent. Completed approved residency in an applicable surgical specialty. Experience: Minimum two years clinical experience in an applicable surgical specialty. Active member in good standing of Hospital Medical Staff. Prior experience as a physician leader. : Licensure Licensure/Certification: M.D. or D.O. Board certified in an applicable surgical specialty Unrestricted license to practice medicine in the state(s) of practice.
