Vanderbilt Health is seeking a dedicated professional to join our Radiation Oncology team and support five clinic locations across Middle Tennessee: Nashville, Spring Hill, Clarksville, Franklin, and Lebanon. Position Overview As a Medical Dosimetrist, you’ll play a vital role in our radiation therapy treatment team. You’ll work under the direction of the Therapeutic Radiological Physicist and Radiation Oncologist to measure and calculate precise radiation doses, ensuring safe and effective Photon therapy treatment plans for our patients. The Medical Dosimetrist is a member of the radiation therapy treatment team who is thoroughly familiar with the physical and geometrical characteristics of the radiation equipment and radioactive sources commonly employed, and has the training and expertise necessary to measure and calculate radiation doses under the direction of the Therapeutic Radiological Physicist and the Radiation Oncologist. This position will cover all 5 radiation oncology clinics (Nashville, Spring Hill, Clarksville, Franklin, and Lebanon). This hybrid remote position has a consistent rotation of 1-week onsite followed by 3-weeks remote. Please note, this position requires 3 months of on-site training. Why Join Vanderbilt Health? KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Accurately performs treatment plans, irregular field calculations, gap calculations, dose site calculations, and other requested calculations, in a timely manner. • Supervises the therapy staff in the implementation of the treatment plan (correct use of beam modifiers, arrangement, geometry of beams and other beam parameters). • Supervises, performs or assists in the planning, fabrication, and implementation of custom shields, compensators, wedges, and other beam modification devices and immobilization devices. • Supervises and/or participates in radiotherapy treatment simulations, special dosimetry measurements or calculations, and micro-dosimetry procedures for radiation therapy treatment planning. • The responsibilities listed are a general overview of the position and additional duties may be assigned.
