Our AstraZeneca Nordic Marketing Company employs around 550 people and has offices located in Copenhagen, Stockholm, Oslo, and Espoo. Our Nordic Medical Evidence team consists of 12 dedicated professionals from various backgrounds and located across the Nordic countries who specialize in Real World Evidence (RWE). We work closely together with internal and external partners to provide valuable medical data insights and scientific evidence/publications to support informed decision-making, access, and improve patient health. We are looking for a motivated individual to join us and contribute to our mission. ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ph.D. or equivalent in epidemiology, statistics or related health science field and experience in the health care environment.
  • Solid hands-on experience in observational research/epidemiology, or clinical research, including study design, analysis and statistics, interpretation and dissemination of results
  • In depth knowledge of Nordic health care and health care data sources
  • Strategic attitude and good networking capabilities
  • Excellent knowledge in English language and at least one Nordic language
  • Integrity and high ethical standards

Responsibilities

THE ROLE

Our team collaborates extensively with multiple internal functions as well as external collaborators, including clinical experts, academic institutions, and Contract Research Organizations (CROs) across the Nordic region.
We are excited to offer an outstanding opportunity to leverage your research expertise in supporting studies aligned with our expanding portfolio across various therapeutic areas. In this role, you will be pivotal in developing ideas for new studies, designing studies, conducting data analyses, interpreting findings, and disseminating results.
As a leader of AstraZeneca-sponsored studies, you will be responsible for establishing and encouraging research partnerships with clinical experts, academic institutions and CROs. Additionally, you will champion good research practices, represent AstraZeneca’s perspectives in interactions with external experts and collaborative networks, and remain at the forefront of epidemiological and interventional study design advancements to maintain a robust functional skill set.
To excel in this role, you should bring solid expertise in the design, conduct and statistical analysis of observational and other research studies, combined with in-depth therapeutic knowledge, preferably within oncology. Understanding healthcare system, strong communication, positive problem-solving, thrive in collaborative teams are key.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Identification of evidence gaps (research questions) through cross-functional partnership and translate these into specific projects
  • Development and design of RWE/clinical epidemiology/observational and interventional studies
  • Development of study protocols, study reports and publications
  • Dissemination of research findings, e.g. as peer-reviewed articles, posters and oral presentations for different audiences
  • Provide research expertise in different cross-functional teams, e.g. knowledge of available Real-World data sources in Nordic health care
  • Provide inhouse training within epidemiology, study design and statistics
  • Interaction with health authorities and relevant scientific communities regarding data, relevant study methods and research methodology
