Job Description Join Our Faculty: Associate or Full Professor of Biochemistry Location: Bridgetown, Barbados Institution: Ross University School of Medicine (RUSM) Ross University School of Medicine invites passionate educators to apply for a full-time faculty position at the rank of Associate or Full Professor in Biochemistry. This is a unique opportunity to live and work in the vibrant capital city of Bridgetown, Barbados, at our academic center located in the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Center. We are especially interested in candidates with expertise in metabolism, nutrition, and genetics, and a strong commitment to innovative, student-centered teaching. Why Join RUSM? What You’ll Do As a member of our Biochemistry faculty, you will: Prepare and deliver engaging lectures, workshops, and small group sessions. Create instructional materials including handouts, practice questions, videos, and digital workbooks. Advise and mentor students individually and in groups. Collaborate with the Academy for Teaching and Learning to enhance student outcomes. Develop and evaluate NBME-style questions and assessments. Participate in curriculum review and development with departmental colleagues. Serve on faculty committees and contribute to academic governance. Facilitate Case and Problem-Based Learning discussions. Support remote and interactive instruction as needed. Stay active in professional development to enhance teaching and subject expertise. Comply with institutional policies and perform other duties as assigned. What We’re Looking For We seek dynamic, adaptive, and tech-savvy educators who: Are comfortable using platforms like Turning Point, Doceri, NearPod, Socrative, Kahoot, and other educational apps. Have experience with mobile learning tools, iPads in teaching, and creating iBooks. Are enthusiastic about teaching in diverse formats and continuously improving instructional techniques. Qualifications What You Bring to the Role We’re looking for a committed educator with the following qualifications and attributes: Required Qualifications A PhD, MD, or other relevant terminal degree in Biochemistry or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in teaching or academic medicine. Demonstrated strong teaching skills or clear potential for excellence in instruction. A genuine interest in medical education and student success. Willingness to reside in Barbados and contribute to our vibrant academic community. Preferred Attributes Proven teaching experience in metabolism, nutrition, and genetics. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a collaborative mindset.
