As a Medical Healthcare Transformation Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping business strategies and operational plans for this exciting area of our portfolio. Your responsibilities will include developing Medical Affairs plans, delivering clinical insights, and ensuring customer focus and clinical governance align with Medical and Business Unit objectives. You'll also be instrumental in crafting pre-launch and post-launch medical plans, collaborating with AstraZeneca's cross-functional teams, external experts, and healthcare stakeholders. Accountabilities - Scientific leadership and data dissemination: Build and maintain trusted partnerships with national and regional/local Key External Experts (KEEs), healthcare stakeholders, and patient advocacy groups. Stay current on therapeutic area and product science (including competitors), share clinical data objectively and balanced, and support publications, slide decks, and scientific exchange. Facilitate continuous medical education for HCPs and respond to unsolicited medical information requests in a non-promotional, scientifically rigorous manner. - Medical value and access: Provide fair-balanced scientific and clinical information to external and internal stakeholders across the AZ portfolio. Partner with cross-functional teams on prioritized accounts and projects. Lead technical discussions with payers, contribute to access plans and value propositions, and bring field insights to market access leaders. Support innovative access models, engage recognized authorities in managed markets/health systems, and contribute clinical, health economics and outcomes research perspectives to business planning. - Brand strategy support: Offer deep insights into local medical community dynamics, clinical practice trends, and evidence gaps. Support pre-launch activities for new therapeutic areas, products, and line extensions. Share HCP insights with cross-functional and regional/global teams, capture and disseminate congress learnings, and monitor competitor activity. - Evidence generation: Contribute to the design and execution of local/regional studies (including non-interventional studies) and broader evidence generation programs. - Team leadership and development: Role-model AstraZeneca Values & Behaviours, drive excellence in execution and field leadership, foster accountability, and support individual development aligned to growth plans. Essential Skills/Experience - MD, PharmD, or PhD or equivalent experience in a scientific field - Prior experience/strong knowledge in Medical Affairs - Solid understanding of the Portuguese national healthcare ecosystem - Validated ability to effectively build partnerships, relationships and collaborate internally and externally. - Excellent presentation, written and verbal communication skills - Excellence in leadership, strategic attitude, project management, internal and external relationship management, analytical/problem solving skills - Proven ability to communicate and comprehend scientific, economic and humanistic concepts effectively with sophisticated and technical audiences required. - Knowledge in Health Economics, Pharmacoeconomic or Pharmacoepidemiology - Fluent in Portuguese and Advanced Level in English AstraZeneca offers an unparalleled opportunity to be at the forefront of healthcare transformation.
