Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Medical Imaging Assistant, you will be responsible for patient care prior to, during and after the procedure, in particular assisting in the CT department, however may assist in the Ultrasound, MRI and Nursing departments as required. The majority of your work will be clinical with a small amount of administrative duties. Some of your many and varied duties will include:

  • Confirming patient appointments & any pre-appointment instructions via telephone
  • Retrieving outside imaging studies
  • Preparing patients for procedures
  • Assisting with the positioning of patients during procedures
  • Assisting the technical staff member during clinical procedures, including cannulating patients
  • Stock control
  • Cleaning and housekeeping duties

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

  • A caring, compassionate nature
  • Excellent customer service skills with a Patients First focus
  • A willingness to train in IV Cannulation
  • The ability to work in a multidisciplinary team
  • Outstanding communication and time management skills
  • Computer literacy skills
  • The ability to work under pressure in an ever-changing environment
  • Physical fitness to perform a clinical focused hands-on role
    Although not essential, qualifications in a relevant field i.e. Certificate III In Health Support Service, Health Services Assistance or equivalent is advantageous.
    Please note that the successful candidate is required to provide evidence of vaccination/immunity/screening to a list of vaccine-preventable diseases prior to commencement of employment.
    This position is Part Time – 45 hours per fortnight
    Currently worked as Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday 7.5 hours per day.
    Flexibility to work up to full time hours for leave coverage as well as participate in public holiday and weekend rosters is required.
