Responsibilities In this role the Medical Laboratory Assistant will perform the following job duties: Skin punctures to obtain blood specimens for laboratory testing. Prompt accurate processing of test requisitions, accurate charging, registering and ordering tests for outpatients, informing techs of stats and other timed or urgent testing. Telephone patients, physicians and nursing units when required. Maintains neat and organized collection trays, collection areas and work areas. Persons in this position are expected to demonstrate logical, professional behaviors under demanding and stressful conditions. Schedule FTE .10 Hours: Variable Days: Variable Qualifications Education: High school education/GED Licensure/Certification/Registration: Phlebotomy Certification preferred Special Skills/Qualifications/Additional Training/Experience Required: Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English
