Job Description
Job Summary
Has the ability and knowledge required to provide accurate, reliable laboratory testing within the clinical laboratory department for which the staff members have been trained and demonstrated competency. Must be able to perform routine and complex laboratory analysis with little or no direct supervision with a high degree of accuracy and quality. Performs maintenance and all quality control as required according to department specific policies. Ensures all regulatory compliance requirements are met as part of standard operating procedures.

Qualifications
Education: 4 Year / Bachelor’s Degree, required. Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university in medical technology, clinical laboratory science, or chemical, physical or biological science or equivalent. Successful completion of a NAACLS accredited Medical Technology or MT program Preferred. If graduated before 1987, four-year certification is recognized as MT.
EXPERIENCE:
MLS I: 6 months to one year of clinical experience (Clinical internships of 12 months duration meet this requirement), preferred.
MLS II: Five years experience in a clinical laboratory required. Leadership and/or quality management experience is preferred.
Licensure/Certification: Certification from ASCP or AMT (MT/MLS), required.
