FTE: 1.000000 Standard Hours: 40.00 Shift: 2nd Shift Details: Full time float to work between Drexel and Moorland labs - 8 hour shifts starting anywhere from 0630 to 1300 helping to cover PTO, unplanned call-ins, training to ensure coverage from clinic open to close. Both labs are open Monday - Friday from 0800 - 2000; Saturday - Sunday from 0800 - 1600. Holiday rotation between staff coverage 0730-1630. Weekends rotation every third weekend 0900-1700 at Moorland. Summary: A Medical Lab Scientist and Medical Lab Technician perform laboratory procedures using established and approved protocols that require the broad exercise of independent judgment and responsibility with minimal technical supervision. Our laboratory professional is responsible for quality control instrument maintenance and specimen procurement and processing. Techs work as generalists in Chemistry, Heme, Coag, UA, Micro and Blood bank (Moorland only). Both clinics support Cancer Center, Urgent Care, and robust primary care/OB/Specialty Services. Other duties as assigned. (u-s) Medical Lab Scientist Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or related science is required within 60 days of hire. Medical Lab Scientist (MLS) Certification by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or equivalent is required within 6 months of hire. Medical Lab Tech Qualifications: Associate degree in Laboratory Science or Medical Laboratory Technology including an internship at an affiliated laboratory from an accredited institution is required within 60 days of hire. MLT (ASCP) certification is required within 6 months of hire.
